If you are working with Silverlight/WPF and don’t take advantage of dependency properties you are probably doing things the hard way. Between Dependency Properties and Attached Dependency Properties there are many complex problems that you can solve surprisingly easily. This talk is aimed at sharing some of what I have come to understand about how to leverage Dependency Properties and Binding in Silverlight/WPF to build quick and easy solutions for common development issues with the platform.

  • Sat, Oct 16 2:45 pm – 4:00 pm: Pittsburgh Code Camp 2010.2 - Advance Debugging Techniques
When something goes wrong with your application do you know how to find what caused it? Most people know how to place a break point and check a variables state but never fully take advantage of what you can accomplish if you really know how to use Visual Studios Debugger. I will show off how to track down what causes bugs that don’t give explanations. How to really understand what state your application is in at any given point as well as help you find issues that don’t throw exceptions. I will show you how to get at the root cause of issues that may actually be caused by the framework and not your code and how to then identify ways to work around that. We will focus on Silverlight but the knowledge is transferable to most .net applications.
